Covid: How many people have been vaccinated in Wales?
A quarter of people under 40 in slotxo Wales have still not had a first dose of Covid vaccine, latest figures indicate.
More than 91% of all vaccines were second doses, the Public Health Wales (PHW) data shows.
Fewer than 7,500 first doses were given out in the latest week.
But there are still 226,160 people aged 18 to 39 yet to have a first dose, including 25.4% of those aged 18 to 29 - more than 122,600 young people.
Most health boards have been offering walk-in vaccinations to make it easier for younger people.
Aneurin Bevan and Powys health board areas have reached the highest proportion of under 40s.
But only two-thirds of the age group have had a first dose in Ceredigion.
Swansea Bay health board - which last Sunday still had to reach a quarter of its under 40s - has 16,379 people aged 18 to 29 and more than 12,000 people in their 30s who have not taken up a vaccine offer yet.
It called the figures "concerning" and is offering drop-in jabs at its mass vaccination centres over the next three weekends.
Dr Keith Reid, director of public health, said: "We know some young people are reluctant to have the vaccine due to myths circulating on social media. |
