Singapore has postponed the National Day parade, which is scheduled to take place on August 9, amid fears over the new wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Singapore's Ministry of pg slot auto Defense has postponed its annual parade to Aug. 21, where the latest round of social distancing measures are expected to curb the rising number of infections.
The ministry may also hold a small parade to mark the anniversary of Singapore's 1965 secession from Malaysia.
The announcement of the parade's postponement came after a growing criticism on social media. It said the ceremony was in contradiction to an order asking people to adhere to strict disease control measures.
The total number of signatories calling for the cancellation of the parade on Change.org has exceeded 39,000 as of this morning.
